I was thinking this week about what I should write about and one of my friends online said to me this morning, “Keep the Faith”. I am not sure why that struck me, but it did this morning. I like to think that I always “keep the faith”, but lately it has been hard.

It’s been no secret that my job has been hard to deal with. There have been lots of changes and things that I don’t agree with. I have been talking with a lot of my friends and family and we all agree that there is not much you can do about it, but try to do what’s right and “Keep the Faith” that all will turn out good in the end. We talked about not losing yourself in someone else’s drama. These are all things that are so true, but so hard to deal with in the moment.

So in moving forward I have tried to remember:
The Paradoxical Commandments, by Dr. Kent M. Keith

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.
