Sitting Still

Sometimes I sit

As still as I can

My body motionless

The pace of my breath begins to slow

In and out

My chest

Rises and falls

My eyes start to close

Feeling the breeze blow past

It feels refreshing on my skin

I get lost in thoughts of you

My face collapses

I fill with sadness

Knowing when

I open my eyes

You will not be

Where I want you to be

Sitting there

Motionless with me

I continue to sit still

Digging deep within my heart

Searching for beats of happiness

Trying my best

To live another day

without you
