I was honestly in shock.
This painting sold before I even named her… before she ever made it to my website.
And yet, somehow, that feels exactly right.
Because the moment I finished her, I knew.
There was something different. Something alive.
She turned out more beautiful than I ever anticipated.
Every painting I create is layered with love and intention…
But this one—she asked me to let go.
No overthinking.
No, trying to be like anyone else.
Just me, the brush, the paint… and trust.
And when I finally surrender like that, well,
That’s when my paintings truly come to life.
It’s the kind of feeling that makes me want to jump up and down,
to grab whoever is nearby and say,
“Look! Do you feel this too?!”
I wish I could somehow teleport you into my mind, my body, my heart in those moments…
so you could understand how deeply painting has changed me.
(And I know… some of you would politely decline that invitation 😂 and that’s okay.)
Because here’s the truth,
I’ve come to love who I am and this mind of mine.
The complexity.
The depth.
The way I feel everything so fully.
I am loyal, analytical, aware, magical, creative, adventurous…
a little bit of a risk-taker, always a soul-searcher, forever learning,
and someone who loves deeply.
Painting has been a journey back to myself.
A journey of healing.
Of acceptance.
Finally, truly… loving who I am.
And I don’t think I would be here without the people who have believed in me along the way.
The messages.
The encouragement.
The quiet “keep going” moments.
The people who have watched my work evolve and never stopped cheering me on.
And one of those people… is someone very special to me.
“Nursie.”
She has been one of my biggest champions.
Always showing up. Always encouraging. Always reminding me of the beauty she sees in my work, sometimes before I can even see it myself.
And on the drive home, thinking about this painting…
wondering what her name should be…
It came to me so clearly.
She Believed in Me.
Because that’s exactly what she did.
She helped me believe in me.
And for that… I will always be grateful.
This painting is more than color and canvas—
It’s a reflection of love, encouragement, and the quiet power of someone believing in you until you can do it on your own.
My hope is that it blesses her
even a fraction of how she has blessed me.
With love, always,
Julie
